Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Atlas team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, high-performance, fault-tolerant, well-tested, reusable, and scalable code that will be used by Bitmovin's enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement code improvements to enhance testability and maintainability under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Contribute to the stability of our systems by writing unit tests and participating in code reviews for your work.
  • Support the maintenance and extension of our monitoring/alerting systems and gain exposure to CI/CD processes.
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies with the support of the team.
  • Keep up-to-date with basic technology standards, industry trends, and software development practices.
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of Java/Kotlin, with some experience in development projects.
  • Exposure to or interest in learning about cloud-native, microservice-based architectures.
  • Enthusiasm for learning software craftsmanship, best practices, design patterns, and clean code principles.
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a willingness to learn and grow in these areas.
  • A positive and adaptable attitude, especially when faced with challenges.
  • Willingness to learn from more experienced team members and gradually take on more responsibility.
