Job Description

The Patent Management function at PALFINGER provides expert service and support for projects, patents, and innovation. We are seeking a skilled Patent Attorney to advise internal teams on patent matters and coordinate the development and management of the patent portfolio.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Advise internal teams on patent matters and coordinate the development and management of the patent portfolio
  • Conduct patent searches, filings, and defenses with occasional patent drafting
  • Handle patent administration tasks, monitor deadlines, and assist with patent docket management
  • Coordinate processes and strategies with external counsels and handle global patent prosecution
  • Perform patent due diligence activities and support the evaluation of licenses and agreements

About You

  • You hold several years of experience as a Patent Attorney, with expertise in patent searches, drafting, and analysis, admitted to the European Patent Office or the Austrian/German Patent Office
  • You possess a university degree in a science/technology field (mechanical or electrical engineering)
  • You have practical experience in patent drafting, with US patent experience and private practice beneficial
  • You know-how in collecting invention disclosures and conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses
  • You possess interpersonal skills, fluent in business English due to collaboration with cross-functional/international teams
