Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team in Berlin. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the implementation of new features and improvements to our platform. You will work closely with our product management team to build complex and high-scalable technical solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing APIs that encompass the backend and business logic for omni:us
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product and project managers, QA, and product designers, to ship new components and features
  • Ensuring the reliability and state-of-the-art quality of our products through architectural decisions and code reviews
  • Participating in paired programming, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Adopting agile practices to drive efficiency, predictability, and customer-driven product development
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years of experience in programming with Java, with Python, HTML, or JavaScript experience being a plus
  • Experience in troubleshooting and debugging complex software
  • At least 2 years of experience working with RESTful APIs and Spring
  • Enterprise development experience in a project-based environment with exposure to multiple clients
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with team members
  • Ability to analyze issues from multiple angles and find innovative solutions
  • Understanding and anticipation of customer needs and concerns
  • Ability to adjust to new challenges and technologies swiftly
  • Prioritization of tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently
  • Proficiency in English and German language (minimum C1 level)
Nice to Have

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Working with Mateo and MSG Nexinsure Connector
  • Caching and queuing technologies (Redis, Rabbit)
  • Proficient in creating/using Kubernetes, Docker containers
  • Knowledge of NoSQL Database (Postgres)
