Job Title: Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Vienna Insurance Group. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our database solutions to support our financial reporting needs.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Customize and maintain our established database solutions in collaboration with our internal IT department.
  • Develop and refine our reporting solutions to meet changing business requirements.
  • Manage and validate data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Develop and implement new methods and tools to optimize existing and future financial processes.
  • Create detailed dashboards, reports, data views, and analyses for various reporting purposes.
  • Future-proof our toolbox by proactively looking for improvements and anticipating needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments within VIG to optimize processes and ensure effective use of data.
About the Department:

Our department is responsible for providing financial reporting solutions to support business decision-making. We work closely with other departments to ensure that our solutions meet the needs of the business.

Requirements:
  • University degree in data science, economics, finance, mathematics, or a similar field.
  • Proficiency in analytical software such as Excel, R, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Experience with database solutions (SAP, Oracle, MS SQL, etc.) is an advantage but not an exclusion criterion.
  • Initial experience with programming (VBA, Powershell, Python, etc.) is an advantage, as smaller programming tasks are regularly required.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Confident and fluent in written and spoken English.
