Senior Staff Design Application Expert

As a Senior Staff Design Application Expert, you will play a vital role in supporting the R&D mixed-signal IP design organization at Infineon Technologies AG. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert-level support for EDA tools and methodologies, troubleshooting daily design tool issues, and implementing hot fixes. Your contribution will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient use of software tools and driving innovation in global design projects.
In this position, you will:
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance the design environment, promote new methodologies, and contribute to global design projects.
- Deliver exceptional support for R&D chip designers in addressing daily issues related to mixed-signal IP development flow and associated EDA software tools and methodology.
- Proactively review chip design projects to guarantee proper and efficient usage of working environment, software tools, and related methodology.
- Identify application-specific requirements to the design environment and develop effective solutions (e.g., hot fixes) where necessary.
- Initiate and track the implementation of design environment enhancements to ensure timely availability for productive usage.
You are well-suited for this role if you possess:
- A university Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- At least 5+ years of experience in mixed-signal IC design/layout/verification or support.
- Advanced programming skills: Python, Perl, Tcl, SKILL (Cadence).
- Comprehensive knowledge of design languages: System Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Extensive experience with Unix/Linux and Compute Farm environment (e.g., Load Sharing Facility/LSF).
- Expertise with mixed-signal EDA tools like Cadence (Virtuoso, Spectre, Xcelium, AMS-Designer, Genus, Innovus), Synopsys (DC, ICC), and Siemens/Mentor (Calibre, Solido).
- Excellent know-how in analog/mixed signal design and simulation techniques.
- Superior team playing and customer orientation skills.
- Fluent English skills with German as a strong asset.
