About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Expert to join our Sustainable Automation Solutions Research Group at Siemens Aktiengesellschaft Oesterreich. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge industrial automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive research and development of industrial software and automation systems, focusing on intelligent systems using machine learning and robotic technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy end-to-end industrial automation solutions.
  • Define and research AI-based solutions for manufacturing industries, integrating with MES level components for intelligent traceability, quality analytics, recipe management, and workflow orchestration.
  • Architect and implement connectivity and analytics solutions integrated between shopfloor and MES level, driving business and industry adaptation.
  • Lead technical teams and projects, consisting of Research Scientists, Software Developers, industry customers, business unit, and research partners, to develop end-to-end industrial automation solutions.
  • Consult with internal and external groups for complex domestic and international projects.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in software/system engineering, computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or similar (PhD is a plus).
  • Programming skills: Java, Python, or similar. At minimum authority in one language and good working knowledge in another. Target operating systems: Linux and Windows.
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing industrial solutions in manufacturing environments, especially MES and shopfloor integration.
  • 3+ years of experience on SW product development processes for Industrial AI.
  • Skills in agile software/system engineering methodology and technologies for large-scale distributed systems, edge computing, and cloud systems (AWS, Azure), e.g., microservices, event-streaming/messaging, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps.
  • Experience building applications using deep learning frameworks like Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch in either production or research settings.
  • Has experience with the machine learning product lifecycle as well as runtime integration and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge in Siemens Software solutions (e.g. Industrial Edge & AI, Opcenter, Tecnomatix ProcessSimulate, Totally Integrated Automation portfolio, PLCSim Adv.) is a plus.
What We Offer

Our compensation and benefits package includes a competitive base annual salary starting at min. €63,738,- (full-time based) and can substantially raise based on your already achieved education and experience levels.
