About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Project Controlling team. As the Team Lead for Project Controlling, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and Light-for-the-World policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the decision-making process of grant applications and coordinate financial donor reporting.
  • Produce high-quality financial information, derive critical insights, and communicate effectively with international donors, Programme teams, and Country offices in sub-Sahara Africa.
  • Prepare for and oversee audits, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and Light-for-the-World policies.
  • Design, implement, and enhance standard financial processes, with a focus on financial planning and analysis.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to project staff and partners to strengthen their skills in grant management, financial reporting, and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management, controlling, or a related field, preferably in a leading role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial planning and analysis, and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence decision-making.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a must.
