Job Description:

The Paris-Lodron-Universität Salzburg is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher to join our team as part of the EXDIGIT initiative. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate closely with the EXDIGIT Research College and existing research groups within the Faculty of Digital and Analytical Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in techno-legal privacy engineering, including aspects beyond anonymity and security
  • Investigate societal impacts of emerging technologies and techno-legal implications (technology-policy co-design)
  • Acquire and execute externally funded projects on the national and/or international level, ideally with scientific and industrial partners
  • Publish research results in outstanding technical and interdisciplinary outlets
  • Support the organization of scientific events
  • Participate in maintaining and extending the existing network of national and international collaboration partners
  • Support in the acquisition of third-party funding
  • Assume responsibility as a principal investigator in further research projects

Requirements:

  • Excellent doctoral degree in computer science, information systems, data science, or a related field with interest in techno-legal interdependencies or a doctoral degree in law with outstanding technical capabilities
  • Very good communication skills in English - oral and in writing (German is a plus)
