Job Summary

Lam Research is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team in Villach, Austria. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including testing, analysis, and maintenance of our software systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the software development lifecycle, including testing, analysis, and maintenance of software systems
  • Deploy software products to customer facilities, ensuring successful installation and troubleshooting of system software-related issues
  • Perform in-house and onsite support of customer install base and resolution of customer issues
  • Test, troubleshoot, and propagate errors clearly to SW and HW Development Engineers
  • Setup and maintain tool simulators, testing environments, and lab support to reproduce issues found in the field and verify SW solutions
  • Understand customer technology and productivity needs and feedback those requirements into software development
  • Prepare presentations to Lam internal stakeholders and customers, traveling worldwide as needed

Requirements

  • Technical education in software and hardware, minimum HTL/technical high school – electrical engineering, software engineering, or similar
  • Excellent computer, troubleshooting, and statistical process control skills
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  • Good knowledge of operating system principles and basic hardware capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience in software development would be an asset, but not a requirement
  • Ability to establish successful relationships in a multicultural environment with external and internal customers
  • Structured working style, attention to details, high degree of initiative, flexibility, and ability to work in a team
