Data Management Intern

As a Data Management Intern at the IAEA, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Data Management team to support various data management and governance activities. This internship offers a chance to contribute to the execution of data strategy initiatives, learn about data integration architectures, and understand the fundamentals of data governance and project coordination within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Data Analysts in performing basic data analysis tasks, generating reports, and creating visualizations to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of documentation related to data management processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Support team members in understanding business stakeholders' data needs and help develop solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Support Data Architect in gathering information on best practices in data management and present findings to the team to inform data strategy decisions.
  • Assist in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of data to ensure its quality and readiness for analysis.
  • Participate in cross-departmental data community of practice and knowledge sharing sessions to learn and contribute insights on data management practices.
  • Assist in organizing events or workshops to foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration among data practitioners.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • University degree in Information Technology, Business, Data Science, Management, Statistics, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of data management, data/business analysis, statistics, software development, and/or IT architecture would be an asset.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.
  • Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree.
  • Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
  • Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian) an asset.
  • Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
