Chief Actuary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Actuary to join our team at Allianz Austria. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the actuarial function for life and health insurance, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of regulatory reporting, and driving innovation in the area of responsibility.

• Lead the actuarial department for life and health insurance, responsible for actuarial reserving, reporting, and risk management
• Develop and implement actuarial models and assumptions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with the CFO, CPO, and CEO to ensure the ongoing fulfillment of insurance contract obligations and the proper preparation of tariffs, reserving, and reporting
• Work closely with all areas of Allianz Austria to ensure sustainable and profitable growth
• Develop and implement strategies to drive innovation and improve actuarial processes
• Coach and develop employees in an environment of constant change
• Interact with the Allianz Central Europe Region and Allianz Group actuarial function, sharing best practices and expertise

• Strong leadership skills and a 'growth mindset' to drive change and innovation in actuarial topics
• Degree in actuarial or business mathematics or business studies with a focus on quantitative finance
• Complete training as an actuary and certification as a recognized actuary in the Actuarial Association of Austria (AVÖ) or comparable membership in another European actuarial association
• Several years of relevant professional experience in the actuarial field in life and health insurance
• Very good knowledge of Solvency II requirements and comprehensive expertise and experience of IFRS 17, embedded value, and insurance products
• Strong communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
• Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office 365
• Very good knowledge of German and English (C1)
