Role Overview

At Apple, we're pushing the boundaries of innovation and technology. As a Rf Firmware Engineer, you'll be part of a team that's transforming wireless technology and delivering groundbreaking products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement the RF firmware architecture of a state-of-the-art mobile wireless communications system.
  • Develop and optimize RF sequencing and RF processing algorithms, RF frontend, and other RF components in a cellular system.
  • Implement RF device drivers and control software for RF transceivers and RF frontend components with detailed timing requirements.
  • Collaborate with systems, RF silicon designers, and IC designers to define RF transceiver architecture, optimize for power, and support software computing requirements.
  • Work with multifunctional teams to manage dependencies while driving key Radio features.
  • Verify implemented firmware and investigate critical RF issues in a multifunctional HW/FW working environment.
Requirements
  • Proven skills in low-level programming expertise using C++, C, and assembler.
  • Embedded systems proficiency, 32-bit micro-controllers ISR, real-time processing, limited and shared resources.
  • Good skills in computer architecture, HW/SW co-verification, debugging using RTL simulation and System C environments as well as target HW.
  • Knowledge of signal processing is a plus.
  • Knowledge in mobile communications 2 G/3 G/4 G and preferably in 5 G would also be a plus.
  • Quality awareness with the passion to grow a healthy RF system.
  • Strong interests in problem-solving and a demeanor to convince people of their ideas as well as willingness toward novel technical directions.
  • Proficient English language skills are required for this position.
Education & Experience

A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering/science, or equivalent is required.

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, employment group G-K. The minimum salary pursuant to the applicable collective bargaining agreement amounts to gross per year for full-time employment. Actual salaries are oriented at current market salaries and take your qualifications and experience into account. A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills.
