Global R&D Manager – Controls, B&R Automation

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead our global team of controls and automation experts. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for driving innovation and delivering market-leading automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multinational team to support the strategic goals of the company
  • Create an inspiring and efficient organization and working culture
  • Ensure a competitive competence mix and a continuous learning spirit
  • Drive and enhance our corporate R&D processes and interfaces following agile principles while respecting industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and manage synergies with other R&D teams across the company
  • Represent our department to internal and external stakeholders, including peers in the organization, customers, and other ABB entities
  • Lead all HR processes within our team and be the sparring partner for our team leads
Requirements
  • Engineering degree, ideally in the field of electronics and/or software engineering
  • Several years of relevant professional and leadership experience in a comparable management position
  • Fluent in English, German would be an additional asset
  • Demonstrable track record of managing cross-functional teams, with a particular focus on hybrid hardware/software products
  • Excellent communicator with a hands-on mentality and inclusive leadership style
