Job Title: Country Controller Austria & Switzerland

About the Role:




  • As a key member of the Axalta team, you will be responsible for delivering all finance activities related to the legal entities under your scope.
  • Your primary focus will be on ensuring the quality and accuracy of the company's financial statements, including finance responsibility over manufacturing, sales distributors, and holding entities.
  • You will serve as the finance interface with Global & Regional Controllers, FP&A, and External Authorities (including External Auditors).


Key Responsibilities:


  • Leading the local Finance country organization, with LE Controllers and local accountants reporting indirectly into this position.
  • Ensuring the financial accounting and reporting of the legal entities are compliant with statutory and corporate policies: Compliance with Local and US Accounting Standards UGB & USGAAP; Timely closing and reporting for both local and group accounts; Review of reconciliation process of all accounts; Overall compliance of international transactions (import, export, customs & duties, ...).
  • Implementing, maintaining, and improving accounting and reporting processes and acting as a Finance partner for the (local) business teams.
  • Representing the legal entities to external authorities and maintaining contacts with local banks, auditors, and relevant state institutions.
  • Main contact for internal, external & tax audits.
  • Responsible for assigned internal / SOX controls and acts as the steward of internal controls and governance in all other areas.
  • Preparation & review of accounting entries (JEVs) and reconciliation of relevant accounts.
  • Providing accounting guidance related to all areas of the financial accounting (includes AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Inventory, VAT ,..)
  • Responsible for preparation of Tax Provision Process (GAM).
  • Responsible for country relevant statistical returns and reports
  • Prepare & participate in shareholder/ Board of Directors meetings and resolutions related to statutory financial statements.
  • Lead & participate in projects. This includes M&A projects.

    Requirements/Qualifications:


    • Minimal CPA or Master degree in Finance or Business Administration. Bilanzbuchhalter.
    • Financial and Senior Accounting Experience. At least 6 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a multinational environment.
    • People management experience.
    • Broad Accounting knowledge (US GAAP / FRS, local GAAP).
    • Knowledge of country Legal, Tax and Regulatory Compliance processes.
    • Able to build winning teams and championing change.
    • Analytical mind-set.
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
    • Fluent in German and English. French is considered a plus
