Electrochemical Modeling Expert for Automotive Batteries

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Electrochemical Modeling Expert to join our team at AVL. As an expert in electrochemical modeling, you will be responsible for developing mathematical and computational models for battery behavior under different mechanical conditions.
Your Responsibilities:
- Review state-of-the-art electro-chemical-mechanical modeling approaches for automotive batteries.
- Investigate the fundamental electrochemical aging processes and their coupling with mechanical deformation and cell thickness growth (swelling).
- Develop mathematical and computational models for battery behavior under different mechanical conditions.
- Validate the developed models using experimental data.
About You:
- You have ongoing master studies in the fields of Engineering, Technical (computer science), or Natural sciences (physics, mathematics).
- You possess strong proficiency in Python.
- A knowledge of battery technology is beneficial, but not required.
- Experience in mechanical FEA simulations is desirable, but not essential.
- You have a high level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously.
- You are fluent in English language skills, which are essential; fluency in German is advantageous.
