Position OverviewPart-time, 38 hours per fortnight located in Hedland.Salary: $43.08/hr p/a + super + regional allowance 10.12/hrWorking Monday to Friday.BenefitsSalary packaging benefitsDiscounts with a major health insurance providerAccess to a confidential and professional counselling service for employees and their family membersHOPE has been a provider of community services in Western Australia for over 120 years, providing much needed support for people in the areas of alcohol and other drugs, mental health, justice and family and domestic violence.About the OpportunityThe role's primary function is to liaise and work with a wide range of government and non-government agencies, professionals, and community groups to progress community action on alcohol and other drug (AOD) prevention initiatives.Requirements of the Role:In collaboration with the Mental Health Commission (MHC) and other stakeholders, take a lead role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based prevention strategies to reduce and prevent AOD related harms at a local and regional level.Maintain accurate timely records of AOD prevention activities for reporting internally and to community stakeholders and funders.Develop and maintain partnerships with government and non-government service providers and community groups to identify local needs and ensure referral pathways.Coordinate the regional response to Volatile Substance Use in line with MHC protocols for reporting and responding.Work with the Prevention Coordinator and HOPE's PR Manager to develop educational and promotional strategies, campaigns, and publications for AOD prevention activities.Research and prepare submissions and reports relating to AOD prevention programs and projects.Collect quality data and statistics required for funding bodies.Participate in quality assurance activities and evaluation of HOPE.Maintain work registers for relevant programs and projects as directed by the Prevention Coordinator.About You:Commitment to upholding HOPE's vision, mission, and values.Commitment to work in culturally secure and competent ways.Demonstrated ability to work with health and other community groups on education, health promotion, and community AOD prevention initiatives.Experience in or demonstrated ability to develop, implement, manage, and evaluate alcohol and other drug prevention initiatives.High level of written communication skills, including report writing.High level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills and the ability to liaise with people in a variety of contexts.Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver training to professionals and community groups.Knowledge of the impacts of drugs and alcohol on individuals, families, and communities.An understanding of and adherence to working within personal and professional boundaries.Excellent administrative and computer skills.Excellent problem-solving skills.Confidence in managing difficult situations.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.Appointments will be subject to:Australian residency/visaSatisfactory National Police check (within 3 months)Working With Children cardCurrent C or A class driver's licenseFirst Aid CertificateSuitable work refereesOur CultureHope strives to provide a safe workplace and promotes progressive policies that prioritise the health, safety, and unique needs of our team.
