Our client, a global, successful and well-established manufacturing organisation, is seeking a Safety Specialist to join their team.
This is a rare opportunity to make your mark and shape the safety culture across the company.
Reporting to the Senior Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the safety management process, maintaining compliance and ensuring a consistent WH&S culture.
You will lead risk assessments, manage and report on incidences, conduct incident and near miss investigations along with recommending corrective and preventative actions.
This role is also responsible for managing workcover claims and facilitating return to work programs for injured workers.
Key Responsibilities Include:Safety Strategy & ImplementationEnd to End Injury Management and WorkCover claimsRisk AssessmentsMonitoring and ReportingContinuous ImprovementIncident InvestigationSafety Advice and PartneringDangerous Goods ManagementCoordinating Training SessionsTo Excel in This Role, You'll Need:Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or a recognised qualification in Health & Safety or similar discipline (Certificate IV or higher)At least 3 to 5 years' experience working in Health and Safety as an AdvisorExperience in a manufacturing environment desirableReturn to Work and Rehabilitation qualifications and/or experienceAnalytical skills in reviewing activities and identifying key actions to deliver improvementDemonstrated ability to develop and foster a proactive safety cultureConfidence and the ability to implement strategies to influence and impact people at all levels in an organisationAbility to communicate with all levels of the organisation from office to shop floorThe ability to negotiate in a commercial and employee relations contextYou'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment where your ideas and contributions are valued.
