DUTIES WILL INCLUDE Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify issues in carsPerform repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance tasksWorking with electrical systems, including wiring, circuits and componentsEngine rebuilding, from top-end jobs to full engine overhaulsMaintaining accurate records of repairs and maintenance for customer and regulatory purposesInteracting with clients, explaining repairs, providing estimates, and ensuring their satisfactionCarry out vehicle safety inspectionsWHY CHOOSE THIS CAREER PATH? Become trade qualified: One day a week you'll attend TAFE and undertake theory and practical lessons to gain a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
APPRENTICESHIP INFORMATION During the duration of the apprenticeship (48 months) you will be working full-time (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday learning all the skills of the trade within the working environment.
You will attend TAFE one day per week for three years, where you will learn theory and practical areas within the trade to gain a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and be a qualified tradesperson at the completion of your apprenticeship.
