Mentor and guide a talented Test Engineering team in Insurance Technology.We're looking for an experienced Test Lead with strong automation knowledge.Sydney location with great employee benefits & WFH flexibility.About the role The Principal Test Engineer plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing automated testing frameworks aligned with industry best practices. They are responsible for ensuring the highest quality in testing across the end-to-end cycle of projects. This role involves providing expert technical advice, handling complex issues, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes for customers. Additionally, the Principal Test Engineer mentors other Software Test Engineers and ensures testing processes contribute to broader software engineering operations and excellence.
What you'll do Lead and execute testing strategies, process improvements, and standards for your deliverables.Provide thought leadership in QA practices and continuously drive improvements in the QA domain.Ensure the relevant types and levels of testing (e.g., functional, system, integration, regression, performance, etc.) are executed and planned into the delivery lifecycle.Design, develop, and implement frameworks that build quality, automation, and security into Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration pipelines.Work with the team to deliver both automated and manual tests to meet delivery milestones.What you'll bring Minimum 10+ years appropriate industry experience in a Principal/Lead Test Engineer role.Experience in API automation.Bring industry best practices to the Test chapter and help uplift junior resources.Experience in either Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Aplitool.Good knowledge in adopting or implementing test automation frameworks.Proven experience in leading, advising, and mentoring junior Software Test Engineers.What we can offer you Competitive benefits package and excellent work culture.Excellent discounts on a range of retail favourite stores as well as insurance products.A range of flexible working and leave options, including 20 weeks paid parental leave and unlimited paid emergency response leave.Invest in your brighter future with ongoing study support and career development programs.About Suncorp Group We're proud to be a part of the Suncorp Group family alongside some of Australia's most trusted and diverse names in insurance.
