Due to growth, we have a very exciting opportunity for an entry-level/University Graduate to join their team as an Environmental Systems Officer.
This role would be suited to a highly motivated individual with a strong passion to kick start their career with an employer that truly values their staff and invests in their learning and development.
As part of your full-time permanent employment, our client has committed to the engagement of a highly experienced Environmental Consultant that will mentor, guide, and nurture you to develop you to your full potential as an Environmental specialist over a 24 month period, with the goal of you stepping into management upon successful completion of the 24 month program.
As the Environmental Systems Officer, you will oversee environmental management systems and ensure compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and operational standards.
This role involves collaborating with technical teams, conducting audits, monitoring environmental performance, and fostering continuous improvement to minimize environmental impact.
Key responsibilities of the role: Ensure organisational adherence to all relevant environmental regulations.
Perform regular site inspections and audits to assess environmental risks and compliance levels.
Monitor air, odour, water, wastewater and waste outputs to ensure compliance with standards.
Provide technical support to operational teams to optimise environmental practices.
Manage the environmental aspects of wastewater and waste treatment systems.
Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed compliance reports.
Deliver training to staff on environmental policies and best practices.
Promote a culture of environmental stewardship across the organization.
Develop and implement environmental management systems and sustainability programs.
Lead the preparation for certifications, such as ISO 14001 or equivalent.
Identify opportunities for environmental improvement and resource efficiency.
Coordinate projects to reduce the organization's carbon footprint.
What we're looking for: University graduate or similar in an Environmental or Sustainability field.
