Wood is currently recruiting for a talented Senior Manager – Construction and Completions to join our Minerals and Metals business.
The successful candidate will preferably be located in either Johannesburg, South Africa, or Perth, Western Australia, but other locations will also be considered.

The ideal candidate will have significant Minerals and Metals EPCM experience, preferably on projects with a value of $500M+, managed strategy and construction execution methods throughout the Eastern hemisphere and ideally, will have experience working on construction projects in remote locations.

The Senior Manager will be responsible for assuring delivery and execution excellence in construction and completions activity across the Minerals & Metals East business.
This role will work closely with the Business Development and Proposals team to review the construction scope of all tenders and will develop the execution strategy, including manhours build-ups, review of technical expertise and resources available, alignment with Wood and customer practices and procedures.

This senior management role is expected to lead by example, consistently display and enforce Wood's values and behaviours, role model commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, and create an inclusive work environment, to ensure safe and reliable operations, on-time delivery of executed work, and client satisfaction.

Typically Required Qualifications: Minimum ISCED Level 6 (Bachelor's) degree in science or engineering, or equivalent level of expertise gained through on-the-job experience.
Chartered membership of relevant Institute / Association OR Licensed Professional Engineer or equivalent.
Significant broad and deep knowledge and experience of construction and completions of complex EPCm projects, typically gained through extensive construction experience in the relevant industry sector.
Strong project-based delivery experience; strategic thinking; oral and written communication skills.
Proven leader in delivering work safely.
Experienced in project delivery, including in remote locations.
Experience and understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and completions tools and processes.
Broad understanding of the business drivers for Wood clients.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in driving influence and achieving results.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively across a diverse multicultural community.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally and create trust with seniors and peer group.
