About the Role
This is a five-year fixed term SES 1 position Reporting to the Executive Director Governance and Portfolio Services, the Director Corporate Strategy and Governance is responsible for leading the Corporate Strategy and Governance branch, ensuring the effective development and implementation of the Department of Transport and Planning's (DTP) Governance Framework. This role involves providing expert advice and support on governance matters, overseeing corporate planning including the preparation of the DTP Annual Report and Strategic Plan, and managing reporting and secretariat support functions across the department and portfolio entities.
A key focus of the role is the management and coordination of the department's governance framework, which also supports the governance of DTP's transport and planning portfolio entities. The Director will lead the coordination and development of the department's strategy and corporate business plans and ensure timely reporting on performance to the Secretary and senior stakeholders. This includes working closely with senior leadership to support strategic planning and the successful delivery of departmental priorities.
The Director will also play a crucial leadership role within the Governance & Portfolio Services division, driving performance within the Corporate Strategy and Governance branch by fostering capability, engagement, and a culture that values diversity, safety, and inclusion. In addition, the role requires providing high-quality, authoritative advice to Ministers, the Secretary, and executive leaders to support governance objectives while building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align policy, regulation, and service delivery across government and the private sector.
