Support International Students at Charles Darwin University (CDU)
About the Position
As the International Student Support Adviser, you will play a key role in promoting and supporting the success of international students at CDU.
You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to develop and implement education and welfare initiatives that provide early, targeted, and evidenced-based support to international students.
You will also work individually to support international students with complex circumstances.
You will work in a highly collaborative way to ensure that international students are provided with the right support at the right time and will find creative ways to deliver key messages and support.
You will lead staff capacity building to ensure that both professional and academic staff are aware of, and able to respond effectively to international student compliance requirements, learning and teaching needs and cultural considerations.
In short, you will be the champion of international students, promoting their success and supporting them when they experience challenges.
As an effective communicator and natural collaborator, you'll bring others along on this journey and ensure that the success and welfare of international students is seen as "everybody's business".
About You
To be successful, you will require:
A degree with relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training in international education or a student welfare setting; or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
Proven ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate a range of programs and services to promote the needs of students.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders in order to successfully deliver high-quality outcomes.
Demonstrated cultural awareness and an ability to effectively relate professionally to students/clients from an international background, preferably in an Australian setting.
Proven ability to provide a strong customer service orientation for both internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated high-level organizational ability, including the ability to respond to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks, and initiative that exhibits attention to detail, work planning to meet deadlines, think analytically, problem-solve, and prioritize competing demands in a dynamic team environment.
Demonstrated high level of computer competency with sound data maintenance and interrogation skills in Calista or a similar student database system.
Customer service focus with excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Level 7.
The base salary will be in the range of $93,475 to $102,606 per annum.
The total remuneration package will be in the range of $109,365 to $120,049 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
