Contributing to Education by playing a vital role in maintaining and managing resources that support our educational and research activities, directly impacting the quality of education.Engaging in intellectually stimulating tasks that involve complex problem-solving and analytical challenges.Utilising your meticulous nature to ensure precision and accuracy in managing the university's assets.Supporting Sustainability by contributing to our sustainability initiatives by managing assets efficiently and responsibly.Continuous Learning by staying updated with the latest accounting standards and practices, fostering your personal and professional growth.Collaboration by working with various departments and stakeholders, building relationships and collaborating on impactful projects.Having an Impact on decision-making by providing accurate and timely financial information that helps university leaders make informed decisions.A strong sense of Community as part of a vibrant university community, contributing to its mission and enjoying a strong sense of belonging and purpose.Developing and enhancing your expertise in asset accounting, by becoming a key resource within the university.As the Asset Accountant you will: Manage and maintain accurate fixed asset registers and project master records for the University and its controlled entities.Ensure alignment with accounting standards, University policies, and external reporting requirements through meticulous analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.Perform key asset accounting tasks, including capitalisation, transfers, revaluations, depreciation, and write-offs.Oversee financial aspects of capital and research projects, ensuring timely creation, monitoring, and reporting of income and expenditure.Assist with physical asset tracking activities such as stocktakes and valuations, ensuring compliance with University standards.Identify and mitigate financial risks through robust governance and risk management practices.Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value for the University.This continuing position is full time at a HEW6 Higher Education Level located at Callaghan Campus.

Financial Services covers Corporate Accounting and Treasury, Financial Planning and Reporting, Finance Business Support & Advisory, and Procure to Pay.
