Located near West Wyalong in central New South Wales, Cowal is a residential site where we encourage our people to live nearby and enjoy the close-knit communities and lifestyles of the surrounding areas.Your BenefitsAt Evolution, we support, develop and reward everyone who chooses to be a part of our bright future.Your benefits include :Relocation assistanceSalary packaging, vehicle, housing options, life and income protectionBonus' including short and long-term incentivesEmployee referral bonusesRecognition programStudy assistanceDiscounted health insurance and gym membershipConvenient and comfortable bus transportation to site and from West Wyalong at the beginning and end of your shiftThis roster is 8 / 6 and a 12 hour day.We understand that flexible work means something different to everyone and encourage you to have a conversation about the flexible work options available.About the roleReporting to the Senior Mining Engineer (Underground), the key function of the Mining Engineer (Underground) is to generate mine designs (stopes and development) to support operations and generate mine plans and schedules.Key Responsibilities will include :Maintaining and promoting safe productionDelivering practical mine plans to operations as required to meet / exceed targetsUndertaking project work for operationsProviding engineering and technical support to operations staffParticipating in stope reconciliations for improvements in drill and blast methodsConducting assessments of all hazards associated with operationsMaintaining awareness of environmental risks and obligations around the underground mining operational areas to be able to identify at-risk activitiesUtilising specialist advice as required (eg : water, ground disturbance, waste management) and including controls in designsCommitment to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, RespectBeing a part of our culture of safety and continuous improvement.About youYou will enjoy coming to work every day working with a highly skilled team at a dynamic site where the leadership and management teams are both supportive and team focused.
This role provides opportunities for career advancement and technical skills knowledge.You will require the following qualifications, skills and experience :Tertiary qualification in mine engineering or a related disciplineA minimum of two years previous demonstrated underground hard rock mining experienceUnderstanding of the NSW Regulatory framework, including Safety Management Systems, PHMPs, and PCPs, along with underground operational and risk management experienceAdept at identifying, understanding, and solving complex problemsHighly proficient in communicating information verbally, written, numerically, and graphicallyThe ability to establish and adhere to work standardsDeveloping exceptional relationships with peers, leaders, and subordinatesSelf-motivated with the ability to work within a team to achieve individual, team, and organisational goals.Experience with mine design software, particularly Deswik, CAD, Interactive Schedule, and Schedule or similar softwareAt Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
