Global South PhD Scholarship: The Australian National University (ANU) is offering a PhD position for a Global South applicant as part of the ARC Future Fellowship project on Humanitarian Emergencies & Forced Displacement. This scholarship provides an exciting opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research focusing on displacement contexts and humanitarian emergencies. Candidates with lived experience of displacement are strongly encouraged to apply.
The PhD position is offered through an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship project focused on Humanitarian Emergencies & Forced Displacement.The PhD scholar will collect and analyze mixed method data from one of the case studies: Europe's hot spots and refugee 'crisis', Horn of Africa emergency, or Myanmar-Bangladesh Rohingya emergency.Research priority areas include trafficking, child/early marriages, exploitative/forced child labor, and sexual abuse.The PhD scholar will develop and execute a project aligning with the broader purpose of the ARC Project, aiming to enhance decision-making and program implementation regarding children and young people's protection in displacement contexts and humanitarian emergencies.This offers an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research alongside academics, practitioners, and community partners, with the chance to collaborate and learn from colleagues in the Department of International Relations.Location: The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia
Eligibility/Qualification: To be eligible for this scholarship, candidates must:
Be either a domestic or international candidate.Meet the PhD entry requirements for ANU, including submitting a 5,000-word PhD proposal.Be enrolling full-time and hold an honours degree (first class) or an equivalent standard master's degree with a substantial research component.Description: The selected PhD scholar will contribute to the ARC project by collecting and analyzing mixed-method data from one of the case studies focusing on Europe's hot spots and refugee 'crisis', Horn of Africa emergency, or Myanmar-Bangladesh Rohingya emergency. Selection Criteria: Candidates must address the following essential selection criteria in their application:
