You will be responsible for driving the technical direction of your part of the organisation, assisting the Corporate Technology Leadership Team and other senior technical leaders, working closely with Product Managers to support our strategy and customer growth, and engaging with engineers to help drive technical outcomes.Drawing from parallels of a Team Leader, Solution Architect and Technical Architect, the Principal Engineer will directly report to the Product Development Leader and have alignment with the Corporate ANZ Chief Technical Officer to oversee the development, and design of significant engineering projects. With your extensive industry and domain expertise, and your keen eye for technical and solution architecture, you will be an expert communicator and know how to engage with required people to ensure a successful outcome.Principal Engineers at Flight Centre Travel Group are motivated experts who will create cross business relationships. You will be comfortable engaging with senior business leaders and will be excited to speak with customers and suppliers, bringing your energy and passion to the table to solve problems and provide vision.With your vast industry and technology experience, you will be able to:Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive engineering development programProvide mentorship and guidance to engineers at all levels, helping them reach their full potentialSolve technical problems of the highest scope, complexity, and ambiguityGuide conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration across teamsHave a product delivery mindset, focused on continually delivering valueInteract with customers (both in pre-sales and account management) and other external stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson for Flight Centre CorporateYou are an experienced leader of engineers and able to lead a small team of engineering leads and their engineersParticipate in the recruitment process, including interviewing and assessing technical candidatesContribute to the onboarding process for new engineers, ensuring a smooth integration into the teamPlay a central role in technical, business, and organisational contributions affecting your domain areaHave extensive experience (10+ years) working in a wide range of technology tools and products: Java and C# are a must have, along with RPA platforms, Microsoft Azure, C#, UML, Enterprise Integration Patterns, etcKnow when you need to get your hands dirty and get on the tools, regardless of the toolFlight Centre Travel Group is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace that supports your unique identity to create better, safer experiences for everyone.
