The opportunity
Reporting directly to the Global Head of Security Strategy and Architecture, this existing position is responsible for crafting QBE's global identity security strategy and managing its rollout, execution, and transformation. Given our extensive technological presence and the vital role of identity security across all tech platforms, this role will ensure that robust and accessible identity security architectural principles and practices are integrated into all implementations.
As a senior professional with extensive experience in our Cyber Security team, you will be deeply dedicated to keeping QBE safe today while facilitating future advancements through innovative security solutions. You will play a key role in fostering a motivated team that focuses on analysing, designing, developing, and delivering solutions to stop adversaries and enhancing our operations.
You'll use your leadership and communication skills to give guidance, best practice advice and support across all our business and technology groups. You'll deploy best practices, new policies, and emerging trends to strengthen our strategic roadmap.
Your new role
Collaborate with the Secure by Design team to ensure identity solutions are integrated into the overall security architecture.
Work closely with project teams to provide identity-related guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and maintain identity-related governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms.
Manage Identity and Access Management standards and policies.
Oversee privileged access management, access reviews, and identity lifecycle management.
Provide technical leadership and guidance on identity-related projects and initiatives.
Conduct security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate identity-related risks.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in identity and access management.
As this role sits within our Group function and has a global impact, the hours will not always fall into the standard 9am-5pm. You will not be expected to work beyond an 8 hour day, however at times this may need to be tailored to suit timezones outside of Australia, including Asia Pacific, North America and Europe.
About you
Extensive experience in identity and access management.
Strong knowledge of CyberArk and SailPoint.
Proficiency in Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) and OAuth 2.0.
Application security experience, including secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and threat modelling, is preferable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator) are a plus.
