This vacancy is advertised as an 'identified position' which means candidates are required to have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and proven culturally appropriate engagement and communication skills.

For further information about Identified Positions, please see: managing-in-theaps/indigenous/identified-positions Position OverviewThe position sits within the Business Support Team and will coordinate the digitisation of NNTT records, principally paper and electronic records from the Tribunal in its native title work.
The role will manage related information governance activities, develop and implement information policies, standards and work practices, and provide detailed technical advice to key stakeholders.
This position would suit someone who is comfortable working within statutory and procedural frameworks, can demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and organisational skills.
Experience in managing and implementing information management system (IMS) projects would also aid you in this role.
The suitable candidate will have the relevant technical and digital communication competencies and be comfortable working independently and constructively across a variety of work streams, communicating with a diverse range of people.
There is a requirement to travel interstate to NNTT locations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Possess and demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and demonstrate an ability to communicate sensitively with and demonstrate cultural understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Demonstrated ability to work within a statutory framework including high-level knowledge of the provisions of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) and other relevant legislation, policies and procedures.Proven ability to work under limited supervision, working both effectively in a small team as well as independently while managing a variety of tasks to achieve work outcomes within tight timeframes.Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and facilitating information governance frameworks, strategies, policies, procedures, and initiatives relevant to a large, geographically diverse Commonwealth agency.Demonstrated experience in managing an enterprise information or records management system, including working with other sections to manage and maintain data and user security.Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining productive relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.Proven ability to act impartially and professionally, and operate within the boundaries of organisational processes, constraints and APS values.QualificationsQualifications in information or records management or equivalent experience, while not essential, would be highly desired.
Some travel may be required to interstate locations.
