Power & Energy SMEC is a global provider of engineering, environmental and construction services, consolidating all aspects of Energy and Renewables Infrastructure from planning to delivery. Our expertise includes grid connection studies, substation design, policy and sector planning, carbon services, load forecasting models, and long-term generation planning using simulation and dynamic programming techniques. We have delivered stand-alone and grid-tie photovoltaic and solar thermal projects, 'water to wire' services on mini and micro-hydro projects, geothermal power plants and generation facilities.
The Role We're seeking to engage a Senior Level Electrical Drafter to join our team in ANZ. In this role you'll be responsible for Electrical Drafting on Solar Farm and Renewable Projects within ANZ.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting in the preparation of schematic and production drawingsUsing a combination of standard and modified Drafting methods/techniques in addition to those developed in previous assignments for the purposes of solving problems.Production of construction level documentationLiaise with appropriate stakeholders to ascertain information required to undertake drawings and documentation tasksCarry out design tasks as directed to meet agreed outcomes and cost structureProduce model and/or drawings to timelineDeveloping skills on the application of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)About You Suitable applicants will be/have: Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in DraftingAt least 4+ years' professional industry experience ideally on Solar Farm and Renewable Energy ProjectsCivil Infrastructure and CADD technologies Software: CADD technologies with emphasis on the Autodesk suite of productsAbility to self-manage and prioritise own workloadEffective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environmentAbility to adapt to changing situationsAbility to apply new knowledgeProblem solving/analytical skillsAbility to use basic theoretical knowledge of drafting principles to analyse and interpret informationHow to Apply All applications must be submitted online.
