Talent International is partnering exclusively with Western Sydney University to uplift their Cyber Security capability and as a result are managing the recruitment process for a variety of cyber security roles in their Cyber Security Assurance and Operations (CSAO) team with their mission to provide cyber security advice, risk management, and incident response for the University.

The Senior GRC Analyst is responsible for cyber security risk and assurance activities across the University.

This includes the ongoing development and implementation of improved assessment processes to ensure that the University maintains an accurate risk picture of the ICT environment and one that maintains relevance against current threats and trends in cyber security.
In order to achieve success in this role, engagement across the University's broad range of stakeholders, as well as other Universities and key government organisations, is required.
These relationships are critical in ensuring the University maintains a forward-leaning approach to security and enables business outcomes in a timely manner.

As a Senior GRC Analyst, your technical and systems knowledge will be used to provide guidance to ICT system owners, ICT projects, cybersecurity stakeholders, and assist in the coordination of certification and accreditation activities.

Key Duties (not limited to)
Independently perform risk assessments in a dynamic and complex environment and produce a risk assessment report for the business.
Review solution and architectural designs, identify risks and advise security recommendations.
Analyse security risks and business impacts and provide guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks.
Identify areas of risk and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the University's approach to risk in the use of ICT.
Advise security controls based on utilization of those frameworks and standards.
Provide practical short and long-term recommendations for business units to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of security controls and procedures, and to improve overall compliance with information security requirements.
Ability to identify risks, develop and recommend mitigation plans, govern risk treatment activities, maintain risk register, generate risk status reports for the management.
Ability to manage and triage, action cyber security risk assessment, assurance and incident queue.
In order to be considered, we are seeking skilled GRC professionals who can demonstrate the following:
Tertiary (preferably post graduate) qualifications and extensive relevant technical ICT experience in an appropriate discipline with specific focus on Cyber Security, preferably in the context of a recognised framework with practitioner accreditation.
Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate cyber security concepts to a broad range of stakeholders, both in writing and verbally.
High level interpersonal, communication (oral, written, listening and presentation), teamwork and customer service skills and a demonstrated record of willingness to develop and implement customer-focused solutions.
Extensive knowledge of relevant best practice frameworks, Government security policy and publications including the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Protective Security policy Framework (PSPF), Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and other relevant cyber security frameworks, with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the above frameworks, legislation, policy and procedures.
Preferred certifications in any of the following: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001 Implementer, IRAP Assessor.
HEW Level 9, Base Salary range of $131,560 to $140,496 + 17% Superannuation - this is an ongoing role, hybrid work arrangement, base location Hawkesbury or Parramatta - remote working arrangements to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
