At Elula, you will be pushed to be the best version of yourself while working in an exceptional team at the forefront of AI product development.Our products utilize machine learning algorithms, productionized models, data pipelines, explainable AI, visualizations, and technical-into-plain-English translation, focusing on helping the financial services industry deliver personalized customer experiences and transform customer engagement and retention.About the RoleWe are only successful if our customers are getting demonstrable value from our AI products and services. As a senior data scientist, you will be part of a high-performing team, owning specific data science outcomes. You will work closely with other data scientists and collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and customer-facing roles, solving interesting data science problems that drive business value.ResponsibilitiesInvestigate described problems and datasets to assess the usefulness of data science and analytics solutions.Apply a range of data science techniques and use specialized programming languages.Understand and apply rules and guidelines specific to the industry and anticipate risks and implications of modeling.Select, acquire, and integrate data for analysis.Develop data hypotheses and methods and evaluate analytics models.Advise on the effectiveness of specific techniques based on project findings and comprehensive research.Define and enhance processes associated with deploying, monitoring, and running models in production.Generate and communicate insights aligned to business objectives and relevant to diverse stakeholders and clients.Manage demand and prioritization with business stakeholders and balance long-term objectives versus immediate delivery.Work independently with the business to proactively propose and develop data science solutions to customer problems.Mentor other data science team members on data science best practices.Lead projects to create scalable and reliable end-to-end solutions for our customers.Optional Skills and Other Relevant ExperienceA bachelor's or master's degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or any related quantitative field.5+ years of experience in a data science position, preferably in the financial services industry.Ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity to provide pragmatic commercial solutions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Sound knowledge of data management & risk management principles.Expert in programming across one or more of R, Python, and SQL.Advanced data analysis, database management, and logical data modeling skills.Experience with big data, machine learning, and predictive analytics.Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.Experience in agile working practices, DevOps, and CI/CD principles.Enjoy a start-up culture: team over individual, rapidly shifting priorities, and flexibility surrounding assignments.Learn and develop at pace with exposure to real-world problems.Inclusivity and equality – all are welcome to apply.Interested?If you are excited about collaborating with a close-knit team, submit your CV and a cover letter telling us specifically what draws you to Elula, the job, and what distinguishes you from others.Flexible work arrangements and internal career development opportunities are available.
