Following the decision by the Australian Government to acquire UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters from the US Government, Lockheed Martin Australia has established a core team of experienced military Rotary Wing professionals to support the initial procurement and ongoing sustainment activities.
The modern-day, 3rd Generation UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter is the world's leading multi-role battlefield and special operations helicopter with a proven legacy of exceptional capability and reliability.

Your responsibilities will include:Our Apprentice Mechanical technicians will be responsible for assisting with the hands-on repair, maintenance and servicing of Black Hawk aircraft and equipment.
The mechanical trade is specifically responsible for the airframe, flight control, engine and landing gear systems on the Aircraft.
While undergoing training in the various aspects of your trade, you may be required to move between Lockheed Martin and our partner's facilities as well as travel to attend theory-based training, ensuring you gain the required expertise to successfully complete the unit standards required for your apprenticeship and completion of a Cert IV Aeroskills (Mechanical).
We anticipate these apprenticeships to commence by mid 2025.

About you:We encourage applicants who have completed or are currently completing their CERT II or IV in Aeroskills, however this isn't an essential requirement to be successful in your application.
To be successful in this role the skills and abilities required include (but are not limited to) the following:
Passion for helicopters and aviationSelf-motivated, enthusiastic and willing to learnAn ability to meet and maintain an Australian Security ClearanceWilling to travel to complete theory modules of your trainingIn your cover letter please clearly state your motivations for undertaking a 4 year apprenticeship opportunity and reasoning for this trade.
Special Requirements:Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
