The Opportunity Our Port Kembla Springhill Manufacturing facility is looking for an Electrical Engineer in our Paint Finishing Department based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions, and services to our export and domestic customers.
The painting and finishing department at Springhill is the final process in the manufacture of Colorbond, where coils of steel are painted with our world-leading Colorbond coating process and then packaged and dispatched to our Australian & International customers.
Reporting into the Paint Finishing Asset Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving fixed plant assets within the department.
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, your goal will be to enhance operational productivity, achieve asset improvement targets by eliminating defects, maintaining our automation systems, leading improvement initiatives, and coaching team members, all while minimizing business risks.
What Will You Do? Leading and supporting your team to deliver on equipment maintenance and asset performance, you will:
Coach & mentor maintenance team members by identifying and closing technical knowledge gaps.Provide automation control systems technical support, advanced problem-solving, and fault-finding.Conduct problem-solving and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to understand critical failures and implement improvement actions.Lead and facilitate multi-disciplined teams to identify and implement asset and cost improvement projects.Supervise maintenance activities and strive for business improvements and manufacturing excellence.Develop, maintain and improve the maintenance strategy and capital project plans to increase reliability and minimize cost.Build effective relationships to drive the continuous uptime of our Paint Finishing department assets.More About You You will hold a degree qualification in Electrical Engineering combined with suitable experience in relevant maintenance within manufacturing or heavy industry.
As a result, you will have:
