About the Role
Develop and Support Cyber strategy, and cyber advisory capability, focused on Secure by Design best practice in compliance with the NSW Cyber Security Policy.
Perform technical assessments and develop solutions and actions with technical teams to ensure adequate levels of protection, coordinate regular testing, drive secure development processes, and support the response to security incidents if called upon.

Duties
It's an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same as Senior Cyber Security Advisor you will:
Support the development and preparation papers for Cyber Governance Committee, Group Executive, and Board and supporting strategic artefacts to provide timely, clear, and concise updates on cyber maturity and related matters.
Develop and embed icare's Cyber strategy, specifically focused on Essential Eight Maturity through design and operational effectiveness of security controls.
Research, analyse and review complex policy issues, identifying emerging issues, develop evidence-based options, and recommend solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating their engagement in, and contribution to the identification and development of policy solutions and to risk and data informed decision making.
Develop and execute secure solutions and supporting policies, procedures, identifying opportunities to enhance our cybersecurity posture, capability, and reporting.
Assist and contribute to continuous improvement activities within Cyber Security projects.
A flexible worker who can lead self and others in a dynamic and agile working environment.
Work with Product, Platform, and Engineering (DevOps) teams and Cyber Security Leadership team to develop and embed secure development practices.
Serve as a subject matter expert on security strategies and tools to support DevOps / CI/CD activities and embed and promote DevSecOps secure principles.
Design and implement security processes to support technical teams in delivering secure solutions.
Collaborate with technical teams to define, test, and implement new security controls and solutions.
Provide guidance to technical teams for adherence to best practices on securing cloud, SaaS, and on-premises infrastructure.
Scope, commission and review system configurations to identify, assess and develop action plans to remediate security gaps and non-adherence to organisational security policy and standards.
Assist in review and development of process and audit related activities.
Provide security technical expertise in threat/risk assessment, business continuity, and disaster recovery activities.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security or relevant field and/or equivalent industry experience and skills acquired through practical experience.
Minimum eight (8) years in Information Technology with five (5) in Cyber Security domain.
Familiarity with Cyber Security Projects and Information Security Risk Management.
Advanced Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Competency in JIRA and Confluence.
