We are a recognised Employer of Choice (Australian Business Awards 2022) and offer a range of benefits, including flexible work arrangements, health and wellbeing programs, a learning and development program including study support, and a reward and recognition program.About the RoleAs part of our dedication to reducing carbon emissions and transitioning towards a net-zero future, we are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Net Zero Officer.About YouAs a confident lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving our organisation's efforts to achieve net zero targets for both Council operations and community. Collaborating closely with a multitude of stakeholders and external partners, you will develop and drive implementation of programs and initiatives aimed at reducing our carbon emissions across Ryde towards achieving our net-zero emissions goals.In addition, you will also have:Experience working directly within the environmental sustainability or climate change sectorSelf-motivated and delivery-focused, with strong project management skillsDesign and delivery of corporate and community programs to minimise emissions and risk to Council and CommunityAbility to research and communicate complex ideas for a variety of stakeholder groups with different levels of understandingCollaborate and drive outcomes of the Net Zero Pathway with cross-functional teamsAbility to prepare reports, submissions, and briefing papers on a wide variety of technical topicsResearch and analytical skills for developing and updating policy and development of key procedural documentsYour commencing annual salary will range from $83,901 to $96,179.41 + superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.Culture & BenefitsCommitment to providing opportunities for work/life balanceHybrid working from home and office arrangements availableFlexibility regarding start and finish times to suit your lifestyleWork 37.5 hours and enjoy a rostered day off approx. every 3 weeksLong service leave after 5 years, then accrued monthly18 weeks paid parental leave (for eligible employees)3 extra grant days at Christmas to ensure you have time to enjoy the holidayAnnual performance reviews and Award increasesOpportunity to sign up as a fitness passport memberVarious health & well-being initiatives (i.e. flu vaccinations, skin checks, etc.)Free shuttle bus between the North Ryde Office and North Ryde Metro StationHow to applyWe have a two-stage interview process.
