We are building into the current and future needs of industry and looking for agile engineers to help lead our growth plans.Role SummaryThe main tasks of the Systems Planning Engineer will include interconnection studies, injection studies, load flow studies, dynamic and transient studies, feasibility studies, and power system modelling and analysis, using software such as PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, etc.Working in collaboration with the system studies experts to prepare deliverables in the following fields:Power system studiesPython scripting for system study automationData collection, model development, simulations, analysis, reporting and presentations to ClientsTransient studies including Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV), insulation coordination and harmonicsFeasibility and Techno-economic studies (lines, substation, generation)HVDC, FACTS and renewable energy (wind, solar) system design and studies, including dynamic simulations, parameter setting and preparation of specificationsDesign studies (such as grounding, lightning, EMF / EMI, audible noise, cable sizing)Site visits to measure audible noise, ground resistance, harmonics and electromagnetic fields dataSupport the business development team (proposals, presentations, strategy)Desired Skills, Experience and CapabilitiesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, from a recognised institutionDemonstrated experience, particularly in modeling and simulations of power systems, and writing reportsProficiency in the following software tools (an asset): PSSE, PSCAD, Python Scripting, PSLF, EMTP-RV, DigSilentExceptional academic, extracurricular and professional recordExceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus achieving resultsTeam player with great interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsADDITIONAL INFORMATIONIf this sounds like you and you would like to expand your career with us, apply for this exciting and rewarding opportunity todayWe are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves, thrive and develop.
