We are transforming to bring to life our recently launched strategic plan: MACS 2030: forming lives to enrich the world.WHY WORK FOR US?Professional development opportunities with a defined personalised annual budgetAccess to flexible working arrangements, including working from homeWork in a tight-knit, supportive team to ensure your success in the roleJob DescriptionYOUR ROLEThe Education Officer (Students with Disability) role provides expert guidance and support to school leaders on inclusive teaching practices and compliance with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD SwD) to meet the needs of students with cognitive, sensory, physical, and social/emotional challenges.This role is part of the Student Engagement Services team, which operates within the Student Engagement Team (SET) under the Education Excellence Directorate.
The Student Engagement Services (SES) team is responsible for providing leadership and support across all relevant targeted programs, leading key data analysis across the Student Engagement team, and providing expertise and leadership in the provision of policies, professional learning, and resources focused on building systemic practices.WHAT YOU WILL DOProvide expert advice to school leaders on inclusive teaching practices and improving educational outcomes (i.e., multi-tiered systems of support, personalised learning plans, student health support plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments) and foster effective communication with families and stakeholders.Build school leaders' capability to apply MACS policies, guidelines, and ensure they meet their obligations regarding VRQA minimum standards and key legislation (e.g., Australian Education Act 2013, Disability Discrimination Act 1992, and Disability Standards for Education 2005).Support schools in implementing and quality assuring the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD SwD).Develop and deliver professional learning on inclusive teaching practices, student support, and monitoring for academic, behavioural, and wellbeing needs.Assist schools with targeted assessment and intervention processes, documentation, and liaising with external agencies to support students requiring adjustments.ABOUT YOUStrong understanding of state and national policies related to inclusive teaching practices, multi-tiered support, NCCD SwD, RTI, and universal design for learning.Experience in applying inclusive teaching practices and developing evidence-based approaches to support students with diverse needs (academic, behavioural, health, etc.
).Proven ability to design and deliver professional learning programs through various formats, including webinars and online modules.Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and manage workloads effectively.Please refer to the position description for further details about the role and the Key Selection Criteria.Click APPLY to submit your application.
