The branch has a number of current and anticipated vacancies across different areas in the AFP available at the Band 7 level.As a Team Leader you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. You will be responsible for leading and managing a team dedicated to delivering an important business function to the AFP. The role has both a practical and strategic focus requiring the application of sound business principles in the management of Financial resources to meet AFP operational and strategic requirements in the most effective and efficient manner.Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.What will you do?Lead and develop a team of Finance Professionals.Deliver timely financial information, analysis and advice to assist the organisation in making decisions. Establish a working relationship and communicate with external stakeholders, Assistant Commissioners (SES 2), Commanders (SES 1) and other operational staff to assist with financial management, reporting and budget development.Work flexibly across various teams depending on work requirements.Challenge existing work practices in an effort to gain efficiencies and benefits for the AFP.Supervise and support your team, manage resources and balance competing priorities to deliver timely and accurate results.You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.Demonstrated ability to lead a team.The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:Membership of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand or CPA Australia is highly desirableNotesThis role is an AFP Band 7 (APS Executive Level 1 equivalent) level roleProof of a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations (or one dose if the Janssen vaccine was used) will be required if an offer of employment is made.These roles are located in Canberra, ACT and successful applicants are expected to be based in Canberra.Commitment to Diversity & InclusionAt the AFP we value the different perspectives, approaches and lived experiences of our people, and recognise that our collective intelligence and diversity is what makes us stronger.
