This customer-facing position involves working with multiple suppliers and cross-functional teams, both domestically and globally.
The role requires flexibility, as you may alternate between Technical Business Analyst and Project Management responsibilities depending on the situation.
Key focus will primarily be on Technical Business Analysis.
The role will be a function within the overall Viasat International Government Segment.
The primary customer is government, and this role will report into the Snr.
Solutions Programme Manager who is responsible for the customer solution roadmap.About you :The ideal candidate will demonstrate customer centricity, blending technical business analysis and project management skills.
You are passionate about technology and eager to learn in the exciting and transformative satellite and telecommunication industry.Key attributes for success include :Stakeholder managementFluent written and verbal communication, with the ability to articulate opportunities, problems, or understandings succinctlyRequirement gathering, including hosting workshops with customers and suppliersProactive issue and risk managementThe successful candidate will be skilled at navigating complex project or operational settings while ensuring that technical solutions align with business needs and customer expectations.The day-to-dayTechnical business analysis responsibilities :Gathering and documenting business requirementsAnalysing current business processes and systemsDeveloping management plans for new systems and solutionsIdentifying areas for improvement or automationTranslating business needs into technical specificationsFacilitating communication between technical teams and business stakeholdersDevelop test plans for customer user acceptance testingOversee customer user acceptance testingOversee supplier system testing (Witness Testing)Bridge between customer, business and ICT digital services :Aligning ICT digital service initiatives with business and customer goalsEnsuring technical solutions meet customer needsExplaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersProject management tasks :Planning and scheduling project activitiesManaging supplier to outcomesInternal resource allocation and managementRisk and issue assessment and mitigationAll levels of status reportingManaging project budgetsTechnical knowledge :Understanding of ICT technologies and systemsAbility to interpret technical documentationKnowledge of software development lifecycle managementAreas of exposure :Involved in technical quality assurance and compliance, i.e.
ISO 27001, IRAP AustraliaWorking through Statement of Applicability and Security Risk Management PlansWorking with extended platform and fulfilment teams in optimising the current business workflowsAdhere to the WHS responsibilities and policies of Inmarsat (Viasat) as per the organisation's Safety Management SystemWhat you'll needTertiary education in areas of business and technologyExposure to Software Development LifecycleIndustry certification with International Institute of Business AnalysisIndustry certification with Scrum or Scaled Agile in the role of Product OwnerProject Management Methodology (Prince 2 or PMI) and IT Service Management (ITIL v4)Exposure to ISO27001, IRAP Assessments and reaccreditationExposure to Commonwealth of Australia DISP FrameworkAs this position directly supports Viasat customers in a global community who operate in numerous different time zones, it is essential that working hours are flexible.
The candidate in this role will be expected to work with their line manager to adjust working hours to deliver services as required while maintaining a satisfactory work-life balance.Must be committed to continuous personal development.Strong presentation and written communication skills are essential.Ability to travel interstate.Must hold and maintain Australian citizenship and either already have or have the ability to qualify for Australian Defense baseline / NV1 clearance.What will help you on the jobOutcome driven, with a mature understanding that people, culture, and values are the key attributes to achieving success in businessComfortable with ambiguity and intentional on bringing structure to ambiguity.Customer and security-first mindset followed by a structured approach in introducing ideas and technology.
