As Senior In-house Counsel, you will be a trusted advisor to the business, providing strategic and pragmatic legal counsel on a wide range of commercial matters.
You will be responsible for leading negotiations for contracts, managing risk, ensuring legal compliance across all commercial activities, and providing mentorship to junior team members.
You will be working under industry leaders, who will continue to inspire, empower, and entrust you whilst continuing to support your learning within the legal sector.
Key Responsibilities:
With the guidance and leadership of seasoned and supportive General Counsel and Director of Legal Services:
Review, draft and negotiate commercial contractsRepresent Peninsula in relevant Courts and TribunalsAdvise, negotiate and resolve commercial disputesAdvise, negotiate and resolve employment disputesManage litigation, including external counselReview and advise upon privacy and consumer law matters.What You'll Bring: Minimum 4 years of experience as a commercial lawyer, in private practice or preferably an in-house role.Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements, particularly NDAs and IT related contracts.In-depth knowledge of commercial law principles, including contract law and corporate law.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Ability to engage stakeholders and provide practical legal advice.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing guidance to junior team members.Exposure to employment law is desirable but not essential.What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package.Collaborative and supportive work environment.Be part of a growing and successful company.Make a significant contribution to the company's strategic direction.Amazing 6 star CBD office locationA unique opportunity to use your contract/commercial negotiation and litigation skills and knowledge and develop sought after employment law knowledge and experience.APPLY NOW for a confidential discussion Peninsula is committed to nurturing a diverse and vibrant workplace.
