WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS Competitive salaries including Short-Term Incentive BonusAdditional employer superannuation contributions which depend on the level of employee contributions you choose.Participation in the Employee Share PlanFlexible working arrangements and industry leading parental leave and family care policyABOUT THE ROLE This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, DIDO to our Boddington Bauxite Mine located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).
As the Specialist GIS, you will be responsible to provide specialist knowledge, problem-solving, short-medium term planning, and act as a change agent to deliver new solutions.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
Identify and analyse GIS related business requirements and translate into technical requirements, for inclusion in system enhancement projects.Testing of GIS system enhancements and provide support to business users.Provide technical advice, support and incident resolution to system users and stakeholders of the GIS applications.Ensure consistency in report logic and implement standard reports for common requests to encourage self-service reporting.Providing a high level of support to users of the GIS applications and keeping abreast of constantly changing business needs for spatial data.Building and maintaining sustainable relationships with business stakeholders and IT in order to provide a high level of technical support.ABOUT YOU You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into system enhancing technical requirements.Experience with Property and Land Information.Demonstrated experience working with GIS data structures, relational databases, system interfacing and associated system design.Experience in system troubleshooting, incident management, configuration management, system testing and enhancements and providing application support to end users.Practical experience working with spatial manipulation tools including FME Workbench and/or FME Server to identify, analyse, report and manage data.Qualifications for this position are: Tertiary qualification in spatial sciences (cartography or GIS) or database/IT or extensive demonstrated industry experience.Minimum 5 years industry exposure (mining, exploration, native title and environment).South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
