You could be based in Sydney or Newcastle.
You will be instrumental in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and alignment with our strategic and operational needs.Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including binder (DUA) agreements and third-party contracts.Draft, review, and socialise a variety of internal policies.Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance within the insurance industry.Assess potential risks in contracts and mitigate through well-structured legal clauses.Maintain and update the contracts register and policy documentation.Support in reviewing complex claims, such as liability and ex-gratia claims, and support complaints management.Ensure compliance with all online disclosures and draft necessary documentation.Monitor changes in laws and regulations impacting commercial contracts.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure legal needs align with business goals.What you will bring…Minimum Bachelor of Laws or equivalent.3-5 years of experience in commercial law, specifically focused on contract drafting.Strong understanding of contract law, corporate governance, and commercial transactions.Excellent communication, negotiation, and legal drafting skills.High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.Why you will love working with us…Competitive remuneration and variable rewards.Professional development and access to LinkedIn Learning.Supportive and collaborative hybrid work environment that values work-life balance, ensuring you have the flexibility to excel both personally and professionally.Wellbeing Program offering EAP and annual wellbeing reimbursement to support your individual wellness.Reward and Recognition Program offering both monetary rewards and additional leave.
