To build meaningful relationships and make a difference in the lives of others.An integral part of our team at The Wesley Hospital as a Pre-admissions Supervisor, you'll be encouraged to grow, develop and feel empowered to make the everyday easier for the people we care so passionately about.Your part in The Wesley Hospital teamReporting to the Hospital Registration Manager, the Eligibility Specialist Lead will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the clerical preadmission experience for all planned admissions and the timely & accurate recognition of patient eligibility and confirmation of details.You will also provide leadership to a team of hospital registration officers, operating with a high degree of autonomy, seeking to resolve complex issues often outside of current policies, procedures or precedents.You will:Lead a team of hospital registration officers.Lead and provide an exceptional hospital registration (clerical pre-admissions) service establishing 'best practice' work processes.Provide supervision and strategic directions to the hospital registration team to ensure that all activities are prioritised, planned and driven to achieve set KPIs.Act as the escalation point for the hospital registration team and provide guidance on the resolution of the queries / issues.Management of self-funded patients or patients with restricted cover and advise as soon as practical out of pocket costs.Provide estimates for hospitalisation costs in line with UCH fee schedule.Monitor inbox and action and delegate queries from Practice Managers and other stakeholders.Manage and deal with difficult customers.
Where resolution of issues cannot be made then seek assistance from the Hospital Registration Manager.Liaise with Booking Office at each hospital site for delays in theatre bookings.Liaise with Service Providers to seek approval documents for admissions (Workcover, DVA, DOD & Third Parties).Provide performance feedback and participate in performance reviews with the Hospital Registration Manager.Seek application for ex-gratia payments from health funds relating to robotic procedures.What makes a difference for us?EssentialExtensive knowledge of Hospital Purchase Provider Agreements and health fund arrangementsTeam leadershipHigh attention to detailDemonstrated customer service skills at a high levelKnowledge of online eligibility checks (OEC)Demonstrated experience in the use of medical terminology at an intermediate levelDesirableCertificate III in Business Administration or equivalent and/or applicable experience in an Administration role or other role which demonstrates the relevant skills required.What makes a difference for you?The Wesley Hospital is one of Australia's iconic and largest private not-for-profit hospitals, caring for you for life.
