What does being a Disability Support Worker look like?
The role of a Disability Support Worker (also known as a Support Worker or Carer) is a special one.
Our team of Support Workers provides day-to-day assistance to adults and children living with disabilities.
They support them in living independently, help them work toward their goals, and discover new passions.

Each of our clients has goals they would like to achieve, which can be as diverse as learning to make a delicious meal, going bowling, getting a job, or improving their fitness.
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing your clients progress towards their goals.
Most of our Support Workers work closely with the same people, so you get to know them well and celebrate their progress.
While many of the adults and children we support need assistance with physical tasks such as getting in and out of bed, showering, and getting ready for the day, others may need assistance processing information and accessing the community.

You'll feel right At Home in no time
When you become a Support Worker with At Home Care in Perth, Bunbury, Busselton, Geelong, Melbourne, Brisbane or anywhere in the states, you will complete a hands-on, paid two-day induction with one of our experienced in-house trainers.
You will also complete client-specific clinical training and buddy shifts to help you get to know your clients and their care needs and preferences.
When you start working with At Home Care , you will be mentored by our Learning and Development Team.
Once established with a client's team, you will be guided and mentored by an Engagement Coordinator, who will support you daily and assist you in achieving your professional development goals.
For every shift, you will have access to 24/7 clinical on-call support , so if you are ever unsure about a situation or an aspect of someone's care, the clinical team is only a phone call away.

As an At Home Care Support Worker, you can upskill with additional in-house training and continue to learn and grow while increasing your earning capacity.
We offer specialist training in:
Bowel, Bladder and Dysreflexia PEG Management Ventilator and Tracheostomy management Suction and Cough Assist Dysphagia CPR and First Aid At Home Care will pay for your training and cover the cost of any applicable training fees, such as the renewal of your CPR training.
Get paid while you study The flexible hours offered to Support Workers enable you to work and earn around your study times.
The skills and experience you learn as a Support Worker enhance your employability and provide real-world experience for a broader career in the healthcare sector.
There are also options to complete the practical components of your study through At Home Care – meaning you would be paid during your practical placement.
We encourage you to develop your skills and complete formal qualifications for support work, including a workplace-based Certificate III in Individual Support Traineeship (Disability) and nursing careers , by offering paid study assistance for accredited qualifications.
