The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healing Foundation is a national organisation that elevates the voices and lived experience of Stolen Generations survivors, their families, and their communities.

We work closely with survivors and communities to create environments for survivors to tell their stories and drive their healing.
We are committed to the recognition of the Bringing them home report and the realisation of the rights outlined in the report for Stolen Generations and descendants.

We are governed by a Board of First Nations Directors, a Stolen Generations Reference Group, a Youth Reference Group and are led by a First Nations Executive.
Our work is informed by the Stolen Generations sector – organisations that provide direct support to Stolen Generations survivors in communities across the country.

About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Project Officer, who under the direction of the Grants Lead, will manage the administration of a program supporting commemoration and healing for Stolen Generations.
The role requires experience with CRM systems for grant management and an understanding of participatory grant processes.
A strong appreciation of the cultural and operational contexts of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations is essential, along with a commitment to aligning grant processes with their strategic goals and mission.

Key Responsibilities: Manage the full grant lifecycle, including application, award, compliance, reporting, and monitoring.
Support organisations in preparing and submitting grant applications, ensuring alignment with guidelines and objectives.
Maintain detailed records of grant activities and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Streamline grant processes by developing workflows in the CRM system.
Collaborate with the Grants Lead and IT to keep the CRM system updated and functional for grant management.
Build strong relationships with Stolen Generations Organisations, providing advice on grant writing and administration.
Act as the primary contact for ACCOs, ensuring clear communication with funding bodies.
Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders on grant progress and outcomes.
Perform additional tasks as needed to support The Healing Foundation's priorities.
Experience, Skills and Attributes: Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, including historical and contemporary Stolen Generations contexts.
Commitment to working within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisations, upholding culturally centred practices.
Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud) for grant management, from application tracking to compliance and reporting.
Ability to build strong collaborative relationships to drive success.
Highly organised, capable of managing multiple tasks while supporting broader organisational goals.
Proven experience in grant and funding compliance and reporting, with the ability to communicate effectively to foster understanding and engagement.
High level of written and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office suite.
