Your new roleIn this role, you will contribute to several collaborative projects between Curtin University, industry and research partners.
You will primarily contribute to research-based activities, including the development of new data analysis algorithms, processing and analysis of field data, and participation in fieldwork.
Key duties and responsibilities include:Conduct high-quality research in applied seismology in close collaboration with fellow team members in fulfillment of externally funded research projects.Develop algorithms to process and analyse surface and borehole seismic data obtained with various sensors.Assist in planning, design and implementation of field experiments to collect high quality geophysical data for research projects utilising fibre optic sensors and other geophysical equipment.Deliver coursework in geophysics to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, enhancing their understanding and skills in the field.Provide effective supervision and guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students conducting research.Promote and foster relationships with professional bodies, industry partners, affiliated associations, government and the wider community by participating in collaborative activities.Communicate research progress and findings to partners and the geophysical community through reports, journal publications, and conference presentations.Contribute to grant applications for competitive funding opportunities.Please note you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
