Maintenance Supervisor - Surfers ParadiseMaintenance & Handyperson Services (Trades & Services)Full time$75,000 year + super + 17.5% annual leave loadingMeriton Suites is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to support our celebrated Surfers Paradise property.About the RoleReporting directly to the Hotel Manager as Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for facilitating a cohesive environment between maintenance, housekeeping and front office departments and ensure all maintenance/painting staff are meeting service and safety standards across hotel operations and facilities, including suites, public areas and back of house.Your key responsibilitiesPreferred trade certification and experience.Will have a proven history working in a hotel, or similar.Strong leadership skills and building management knowledge.Being able to effectively support a team in a safe working environment.Support in the maintaining and upkeep of the property and facilities at all times.Daily duties may include, but not limited toFitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails.Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins and toilets.Performing basic carpentry, including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.Performing minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures.Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and alarms.Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management.Clearing gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris.Applying and repairing paint and plaster.Changing locks on doors and windows.To be successful in this role you will havePrevious experience in a similar role.A high level of attention to detail.The ability to work unsupervised.Full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster.Professional approach in dealing with guests and other staff members whilst carrying out your daily tasks.Why Meriton Suites?Australia's largest owner-operator of apartment-style hotel suites, with 23 locations and 6,204 suites nationally.Future opportunities and career development with locations across Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Canberra and Melbourne.'Merit Academy' our online training platform to further develop your skills and knowledge.Paid Parental leave.Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to provide professional and personal advice.Friends and Family discounts.Team activities and social events.Induction program for all new starters.If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please click on the Apply Now tab below.Only short-listed applicants will be contacted within 7 days of application.
