The Network Infrastructure & Deployment (NIDD) team is responsible for the physical network build and growth of Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) regions and is seeking a Data Centre Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM). You will manage and coordinate complex, network build and scaling programs across multiple sites and regions. You will use your technical acumen to identify and drive innovative solutions and deliver results for the customers.
The Data Centre TIPM is ultimately responsible for oversight and review of all disciplines including program management, procurement, passive and active network infrastructures. A fundamental understanding of these systems is required, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other teams and/or organizations. Ideal candidates will have a track record of serving as a leader and possess the ability to design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges. This role requires the ability to lead multi-disciplinary, geographically diverse teams along with providing individual contribution. The TIPM will work closely with both Infrastructure and Networking TIPMs as well as other partner stakeholders to reduce potential knowledge gaps for new region deployments. The TIPM will work directly with the technical SMEs to provide callouts on both the infrastructure design reviews, and on the Networking Integrated Design to validate that what is delivered meets and/or exceeds required standards. The TIPM will document and present relevant lesson learned or post mortem items for each project to networking or infrastructure to have continual data driven improvements within ADC and the AWS organization.

This role will be based out of a corporate office and remote sites, international and domestic travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Key job responsibilitiesProgram management for local and geographically diverse projects to include: oversight of design, construction, and funding activities for capital improvements to operational data centresProject scope creation through coordination with affected partner teamsDriving multiple electrical, fire, mechanical, and/or structural designs associated with the optimization of existing data centreCommercial procurement activities, contract negotiation, vendor qualification, and funding submissionsDirect site supervision of design and construction activities for pilot projectsManagement and forecasting of program schedule and budgetCoordination of leadership program meetings to include tracking of deliverables/action itemsTotal project quality from the creation of commissioning plans to oversight of the executionRecording/reporting key metrics to team members, stakeholders, and leadershipOperational support including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiativesManagement, oversight, and tracking of internal/external requests for information (RFIs) during design and construction phasesAbility and willingness to think outside of the box to find innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality and reliabilityComplex business case analysis with justified recommendations presented to management for review in a document formatOversight and support for augmented third-party construction oversight personnelAbout the teamOur mission is to design and deploy physical network infrastructure for Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) customers globally. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of experience managing end-to end execution of passive and active network projects using different project contract methodologies (design-build, design-bid-build)
