About the Company:An established and respected coal producer with a proven track record in developing open-cut and underground coal mines across NSW and QLD is expanding its team.
Specialising in metallurgical and thermal coal, this well-known operator's growth is firmly supported by the rising global demand for energy and steel.
About the Role:The Technical Services Superintendent is looking to appoint a Mine Engineer to focus on optimising haulage operations at two open-pit coal mines in Northern NSW.
While this role offers exposure to mine design, short-term planning, and Drill & Blast, the core focus is enhancing the design and planning for overburden, coal removal, and stockpiling to improve haulage efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and ensure clear and accurate mine plans detailing truck numbers and excavator productivity requirements.Design waste dump plans that integrate rehabilitation and reject co-disposal considerations.Collaborate with surveyors to ensure GPS data is available and that dozer operations align with dump designs.Reconcile actual haulage performance against planned metrics to identify areas for improvement.Consolidate and report on production haulage data and performance metrics.Monitor mine plan compliance and maintain accurate reporting.About You: Tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering or a related field.At least two years' experience as a Mine Engineer, ideally in open-pit coal mining.Sound expertise in mine design and scheduling.Exposure to industry-standard software (Vulcan, SPRY, Gantt Scheduler, Miplan, etc.
